Fall Soccer 2012

Soccer came to an official end about a week and a half ago. All three boys had great seasons and did very well.

MAC
Team: United

(Such a little stud!)
Mac is such a fierce competitor.  There is nothing but full gear for that child and he gives it his best every game.  I love the intensity on his face and his love for the game.  He's a hustler and a great asset to his team.

BECK
Team: Eagles

Beck's still at the age where most the kids just chase the ball down.  Beckam, on the other hand, puts a lot of thought into his efforts and will patiently wait for the ball to come to him. :) I also loved to see a true love for soccer come out in Beck.  He'd often take the ball outside and kick it against the fence and happily come in to report that he had kicked it 100 times.
(Just happy to be out there!)

JAX
Team: Kickin' Kubs

(Roughest, toughest player on the field!)
I think Jaxton is meant to be a football player because he loves contact sports.  There's nothing that will stop that kid from getting the ball.  Kids will be falling on the ground all around him and yet there he remains, big smile on his face and all.  His coach's final comments about Jaxton at the awards ceremony were, "You could put 20 kids in front of Jaxton and it wouldn't matter -- he'd still get through them!"

Jilli was a trooper through, what seemed like, a steady stream of soccer practices and games for three months straight.  According to her, she can't wait til she grows up so that she can play soccer too.  Can't blame her for wanting in on the action too!

The most anticipated sport of all, for my kids, is up next -- basketball.  Bring it on!

Consider My Heart Officially Full!

When I had Jillian, I vowed that I would not influence her to follow my passion and be a dancer. And even as I heard of other moms signing their toddlers up for dance classes, I refrained and would remind myself, "This is Jilli's life, not yours." But, when Jilli, (all on her own and out of the blue), said, "I need to take dance class," I immediately jumped on it, 'cause who am I to stand in the way of her dancing dreams?
She came home from her first class thrilled with her two teachers and "plie-ing" like a pro. Best $36 I could've spent!

Now I know her dancing career only began a few days ago, but isn't that the face of a performer?

We had a great Halloween! After the excitement of our ward trunk-or-treat on Tuesday, Nate headed for San Diego on Halloween day because he had about as much fun as he could handle (that, or he had a work conference), so we ate pizza at the Bush's and then roamed the neighborhood trying to keep our herd of children from trampling down people's bushes and knocking their doors down. Jilli made it to about 20 homes and then into the stroller she went to enjoy her candy and a nice stroll. Beckam made it to about 30 homes before he declared that he better not get any more candy or he might get sick. The three of us then spent the next half hour following Mac and Jaxton through the remainder of the neighborhood, trying not to freeze. Awesome! Can't wait to do it all again next year.
