She's Here!

Jillian Venice Peterson made her debut at 7:54am on August 23rd. She weighed in at 7lbs. 6oz. and was 21 1/4 inches long. The delivery was easy breezy and I couldn't have asked for things to have gone any smoother. I started to have some random but intense contractions around 3:30pm on Saturday but wasn't sure whether they were going to amount to anything. They continued to be pretty sporadic through the evening and when we went to bed around 11:00pm they started to get closer together. I finally woke Nate up at 2:00 and told him I thought we should head to the hospital. We called a friend (thank heavens for Jesica) and within a half hour she was over at the house. By the time I got to the hospital I was dilated to a five and by the time I got my epidural I was at an eight. Because I needed to be on antibiotics for four hours before I delivered, I literally had to hold absoutely still for an hour and a half (they told me not to laugh, cough, or make any sudden movements) because she was ready to come. As soon as the four hours were up, I assumed postion, pushed a couple times, and out she came absolutely perfect!

Jillian has been such a wonderful little addition to our family. The boys think she's the greatest thing ever and Mac told me the other morning that he thinks she gets more beautiful every day. She's super pleasant and easy to have around and for the four nights that we've had her home she's slept all the way through two nights and only woke up once during the other two nights. We are totally 100% in love with her!

Trying to Stay Busy

I'm driving myself crazy waiting for this new lil' one to come and since the boys and I had to skip out on church today (due to colds), I decided to break out the rolling pin and make a batch of cinnamon rolls. As you can tell from the pictures, Batman himself joined in on the excitement, we were visited by an "indian" who was just passing through after making his latest bow and arrow, and while the littlest man slept through the first half of the fun, he woke up just in time to roll out the dough. Between dodging the indian's arrows, Batman trying to lick everything in sight, and lil' man sticking his fingers into anything and everything, the cinnamon rolls ended up surprisingly good. Today I'm feeling pretty good about what I can accomplish with three little ones . . . bring on the fourth!

Ready and Waiting

I had so much fun painting and decorating Lil' Miss' room and Nate did a great job assisting me with the whole project. I'm especially in love with the little tutu that I made and the owls that my good friend Kristi made for me (be sure to check all her stuff out). While the room is still a work in progress and lacks a little decor on some of the walls, we can't wait to bring our lil' one home to her new little haven.
